Egypt arrests 22 suspected of smuggling contraband into Gaza
The Egyptian police arrested 22 people suspected of smuggling contraband from Sinai into the Gaza Strip, according to a security official in the country.
All of the suspects were arrested as part of a large military operation that took place over the past three days near Rafah and Sheikh Zuayed, in northern Sinai. Hundreds of security officials took part in the operation and confiscated cans of food, automobile parts, clothes, and water pumps. (AFP)
