300 leftists protest in Sheikh Jarrah

Some 300 leftists protested in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem on Friday. The demonstrators shouted: "There is nothing holy in an occupied city", and protested against the entrance of Jewish residents to houses in the Arab neighborhood, as well as against the construction permit granted to Shepherd Hotel.
MK Dov Khenin (Hadash), who was present at the demonstration, told Ynet, "The event this week is especially important – it is not just against the expulsion of the Palestinian families, but it is also against the move to build a new settlement, which we heard about this week." (Ronen Medzini)
