Israeli and Palestinian left-wing activists reported Sunday that police arrested dozens of them in a quiet march near a checkpoint adjacent to Bethlehem.
According to the report, some 100 activists left the Beit Jala area for a joint march ahead of the holidays of Passover and Easter in a call for religious cooperation. Police sources said the march was illegal and therefore the activists were arrested. (Shmulik Grossman)
