PM postpones decision on favoring ex-soldiers for diplomacy posts

The government did not reach a decision on Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's proposal to favor former soldiers and national service volunteers when selecting candidates for the Foreign Ministry's cadet course, due to the bitter disagreement between Yisrael Beiteinu ministers and Labor Ministers Avishay Braverman and Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed the discussion to a later, unspecified date, and the ministers did not vote on the proposal, as was originally planned. (Roni Sofer)
