IDF chief praises fallen major at Peretz residence

IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi visited the home of Major Eliraz Peretz's parents in Givat Ze'ev. Peretz was killed in clashes with Gazan terrorists Friday.
"I came to express my condolences," he said upon leaving. "I met with Eliraz's mother and brother, and spoke with them about the details of the incident. I feel it is an honor for me to command soldiers like Eliraz and Uriel." Uriel Peretz, Eliraz's brother, was killed in the Second Lebanon War. (Shmulik Grossman)
