6.8-magnitude quake hits Bay of Bengal; no damage
Officials say a 6.8-magnitude earthquake has hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal but no damage has been reported.
Indian Meteorological Department adviser R. Bhattacharya says the epicenter was north off the coast of the islands. Local police official Shabbir Ahmad in Port Blair, the main city in the region, says no damage has been reported so far. (AP)
