Obama hopes sanctions against Iran within weeks, not months
US President Barack Obama said during a joint press conference with French President Nicolas Sarkozy that he hopes the next round of sanctions against Iran will start with weeks, and not months.
Obama added that the door to a diplomatic solution with Iran was still open, and that the implications of a nuclear Iran were not acceptable. He also noted that there are some states whose economic interests are more important to them that the long-term geo-political situation. (News agencies)
