Barkat submits complaint against municipality legal advisor
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat submitted a complaint to the ethics committee of the Israel Bar Association against the municipality's legal advisor Att. Yossi Havilio, claiming that he gave a false expert opinion regarding the appointment of his superior.
According to Barkat, Havilio concealed the fact that his position was rejected by the court, which ruled that the appointment was legal. There is ongoing tension between Havilio and Barkat regarding the latter's refusal to implement the court ruling to evacuate Beit Yonatan in the Silwan area of east Jerusalem. (Ronen Medzini)
