UK court issues injunction stopping rail strike

Britain's High Court has issued an injunction stopping a four-day rail strike that threatened to halt most passenger train services across the country next week.

Railway operator Network Rail argued that the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union's ballot of workers for the four-day walkout was invalid because of "inaccuracies and deficiencies." Lawyers for the company said they had found faults in the strike vote, including several areas in which the filled-in ballots was greater than the number of employees. (AP)
