Peres visits Rabbi Yosef, says waiting for Hamas response to Shalit deal

President Shimon Peres visited with Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and Israel's chief rabbis, Rabbi Yona Metzger and Rabbi Shlomo Amar, and addressed Israel's efforts to release captured soldier Gilad Shalit.
"We must do everything in order to release him. The formal situation as of now is that Israel has yet to receive a response on what it offered. The government went a long distance on the Shalit issue, and I hope we will be able to see him at home soon," said Peres. (Ronen Medzini)
