During the Passover holiday, there was an increase of 36% in the number of people passing the Taba border into the Sinai peninsula, relative to the same period last year. Some 68,835 people passed the border in both directions.
The most busy day was last Sunday, during which 8,755 went through. About half of those crossing the border were Israelis and the rest tourists from abroad. (Yoav Zitun)
