Senior cabinet minister: Ashkenazi should continue as IDF chief

A senior cabinet minister told Ynet on Tuesday, "They should have asked Ashkenazi to carry on. There is a government consensus in talks between ministers and inside the cabinet that his tern was successful. I don't think it’s a good formula to replace a chief of staff who reached achievements and is at the height of his power."
Earlier on Tuesday Defense Minister Ehud Barak informed IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi that his term will not be extended by another year. (Roni Sofer)
