Witness: Thousands march in Kyrgyz capital

Several thousand protesters were marching toward the centre of Kyrgyzstan's capital on Wednesday to demand the resignation of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, a Reuters cameraman at the scene said.

The crowd had grown since 200 protesters fought off police outside the main opposition office early on Wednesday, setting fire to cars. Police had fired tear gas to disperse the protesters earlier in the day. (Reuters)
