Putin calls for restraint in Kyrgyzstan, denies Russia involved

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Wednesday called on the Kyrgyz authorities and opposition to show restraint and avoid violence.

Putin denied speculation that Russia had played a hand in the clashes between government troops and thousands of protesters in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, in which the Kyrgyz opposition said about 100 people have been killed. (Reuters)
