White House says concerned by Kyrgyz violence

The White House on Wednesday said it was following reports of violence in Kyrgyzstan and urged all parties to show restraint.

"We are monitoring the situation closely. We are concerned about reports of violence and looting and call on all parties to refrain from violence and exercise restraint," said White House National Security Council spokesman Mike Hammer. (Reuters)
