Shin Bet chief: Documents allegedly stolen by Kam 'ultra-classified'

Shin Bet Chief Yuval Diskin referred to the affair in which Anat Kam is being accused of espionage as "extremely serious" in terms of its potential damage to state security.

Diskin described the documents which Kam is accused of stealing during her military service as a clerk in the office of former Central Command chief Yair Naveh as "ultra-classified." He noted that their possible arrival to hostile elements was extremely dangerous, and said that the Shin Bet used "silk gloves" in dealing with the affair for the sake of maintaining the freedom of the press.
