National average wage in January: NIS 8,397

The average wage in Israel was NIS 8,397 ($2,274) in January. The Central Bureau of Statistics said that between November 2009 and January 2010 the average wage dropped by 2% in real terms.
At the top of the wage table are employees of the Israel Electric Corporation and Mekorot – Israel's National Water Carrier, with an average wage of NIS 19,576 ($5,300) in January. (Gil Kol)
