French nuclear giants will sign a series of agreements with Italian engineering firms during a summit on Friday to bolster their presence in a country preparing to relaunch atomic power, sources said on Thursday.
The Italian government, which pulled out of nuclear energy after the 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine, gave a final approval in February to a decree paving the way for starting work on new plants in 2013 and nuclear production by 2020. (Reuters)
