Ousted Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev said Thursday he died not want to believe Russia was behind the protests that chased him from power. "I can't say that Russia is behind this," said Bakiyev, who said he was in southern Kyrgyzstan. "I don't want to say that -- I just don't want to believe it."
Bakiyev also said he had no plans to step down but offered to talk to the opposition leaders who have claimed control of Kyrgyzstan after Central Asia's bloodiest unrest in five years. (Reuters)
