Interior Minister Eli Yishai instructed the relevant elements to examine more easements for Holocaust survivors by increasing the discount they receive on municipal taxes. The minister is slated to raise the issue in the next municipal tax reform committee session.
Yishai said, "It is a moral and humane obligation of the highest degree to do everything in our power to assist this precious public. Clearly economic assistance cannot east the emotional and physical suffering of those that went through the Holocaust, but this aid will certainly ease the future of Holocaust survivors in Israel."
