Russia: Judge shot dead; assassin fled scene

Senior Russian justice Edward Chuvashov was shot dead in front of his house in Moscow. A source in the Russian security establishment reported that the unidentified shooter fled the scene. The murder was perpetrated apparently in connection with Chuvashov's work as a criminal judge. (AFP)
