US embassy: Kyrgyz base transit flights resume

The United States embassy in Kyrgyzstan said on Monday the transit of troops to and from Afghanistan had resumed through the US Manas airbase after a halt due to political upheaval in the nearby capital Bishkek.

"The transit centre at Manas has resumed normal operations. Refuelling operations continue as usual and the transit of troops has resumed," a statement from the US embassy in Bishkek said. (Reuters)
