According to reports from within Gaza, the Israeli force advanced 200 meters into the Palestinian territory near the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Strip.

The IDF said it identified a hit. According to the Palestinians, a member of the Islamic Jihad's military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, was killed.

The organization claimed the cell was trying to plant an explosive device to "stop the Israelis' advancement".

The military believes a terror attack was foiled in Tuesday's incident, as has been the case a number of times at the border fence recently. The IDF continued to comb the area after the incident.
