Clinton, major powers met on Iran

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met representatives of the permanent five UN Security Council members and Germany on Monday night to discuss Iran, a US official said on Tuesday.

The official gave no further details on the meeting, which reflects the US push to impose a fourth round of UN Security Council sanctions on Iran. Washington accuses Tehran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons but Iranian officials say that their atomic program is to generate power. (Reuters)
