US to convert Mexican nuclear fuel to low grade uranium

The US announced it has signed an agreement with Mexico and Canada, according to which it will convert nuclear fuel currently held by Mexico, from high grade uranium to low grade, which is sufficient for civilian purposes.
The aim of the agreement is to prevent highly enriched uranium, suitable for nuclear weapons, from falling into the hands of terrorists or criminal organizations. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
