Shalom: Boycott of settlement products hurts PA economy
None
Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom asked the Quartet's envoy Tony Blair to work to end the Palestinian boycott of Israeli products made in settlements.
Shalom asked Blair to convey to Palestinian President Salam Fayyad that "the boycott's continuation will lead to the closure of factories, an increase in unemployment in the Palestinian Authority, and will be ahurdle in the way of attempts to advance the Palestinian economy and growth." Shalom and Blair also discussed the upcoming investors convention in Bethlehem and the joint tourist conference to be held in the West Bank. (Roni Sofer)
