AG to examine resumption of east J'lem demolitions

Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein is examining whether the demolition of illegal Palestinian homes in east Jerusalem should be resumed. Until his recommendation is made, the demolition orders issued against these houses will remain on hold.
A top official estimated that even if the attorney general decides that the demolitions should be carried out according to law, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have a difficult time approving them due to the sensitivity of the area. On Wednesday Ynet reported on Tuesday that Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat demanded police carry out the orders. (Roni Sofer)
