US airlines cancelled flights to Europe on Thursday and said they may cancel more as a gigantic ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano disrupted air travel around the world.
David A. Castelveter, a spokesman for the Air Transport Association of America, said its member carriers had halted just over 100 flights between the United States and Britain on Thursday. (Reuters)
