Soldier injured in West Bank

Hundreds attend weekly anti-fence protests in various villages, throw stones at security forces

An IDF soldier was lightly injured Friday by stones thrown at him during riots in the West Bank village of Bir Nizam, west of Ramallah. He was evacuated to receive medical treatment.

Hundreds of Palestinians, foreigners, and left-wing activists took part in Friday's anti-fence protests in the villages of Naalin, Bilin, and Nebi Salah. Sheikh Jarrah, in east Jerusalem, also hosted its weekly Friday protest.

Palestinian sources say an American protestor was injured in Nebi Salah when IDF forces launched a tear gas grenade that hit her leg.

Protestors in the village claim the IDF arrived there before the protest began and sprinkled tear gas, despite the fact that no violent incidents had taken place yet.

The IDF responded by claiming that the protestors were, in fact, throwing stones at forces before the tear gas was discharged.
