Ahmadinejad wants global body on nuclear disarmament

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Saturday for the setting up of a global body that would oversee nuclear disarmament.
"An independent international group which plans and oversees nuclear disarmament and prevents proliferation should be set up," Ahmadinejad said as he opened a two-day nuclear disarmament conference in Tehran. Also Saturday Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the use of nuclear arms is "haram," an Islamic term meaning "prohibited by religion." (AFP)
