Volcano aftermath: Arkia, Sun d'Or cancel flights to Europe
Sun d'Or Airlines announced that all flights destined for central and northern Europe scheduled to leave on Saturday were canceled, due to the closure of the airspace. The flights canceled were destined for Verona, Moscow, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Katowice, Lodz and Frankfurt.
Arkia Airlines also announced the cancelation of Saturday afternoon's flights to Munich, and said disruptions in Sunday's flight to Paris can be expected. The companies have instructed passengers to contact their service centers in order to receive further updates. The European airspace was shut down following the eruption of an Iceland volcano, which shrouded the European skies in a cloud of ashes.
