Vilnai slams former DM's conduct during Lebanon war

None

Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai criticized the conduct of former Defense Minister Amir Peretz during the Second Lebanon War. In response to a question on the matter at a Beersheba cultural event Saturday, Vilnai said that when he and his team entered the role there was no "landlord" at the Defense Ministry.

Vilnai added that there were other failures in the ministry's administration. However, he added that there is no need for the defense minister to have military education, and noted as an example Israel's first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and former Defense Minister Moshe Arens.
