Defense Minister Ehud Barak said, "Israel is strong, deterring, and sure of itself. We are committed to maintaining the state's security uncompromisingly and obtain a regional agreement including two states for two peoples."
Speaking at a Memorial Day ceremony at Tel Aviv University, Barak added, "It is vital to our national security, and to set borders and put an end to the conflict, that our leadership be unafraid of brave decisions. In order to reach an agreement we need to work with the world, but mostly with the United States." (Attila Somfalvi)
