Cabinet approves long-term rent support for elderly immigrants

The cabinet authorized a proposal put forth by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Immigration and Absorption Minister Sofa Landver to instate a model of "long-term rent" in Jewish Agency absorption centers for elderly immigrants and single-parent immigrant families.
Within the framework of the bill, 650 housing units in absorption centers will be offered to eligible immigrants. They will receive increased rental support and will pay rent of just NIS 150-250 (about $40-67) per month. (Roni Sofer)
