Dervis Eroglu, who supports Turkish Cypriot independence, claimed victory in northern Cyprus's presidential election on Sunday.
Eroglu won more than 50% of the vote to avoid a run-off and beat incumbent Mehmet Ali Talat, according to preliminary results. (Reuters)
