Gilad Shalit's 'proclamation of independence' to be signed in TA

Israelis celebrating Independence Day in Tel Aviv will be invited to sign kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit's "proclamation of independence." The project was initiated by Liron Sagi, an Armored Corps regiment commander on reserve duty, who build a wooden tank with the captive's image on it.

On Wednesday, the tank will begin a journey of several weeks from Shalit's hometown of Mitzpe Hila to Jerusalem, where the signed declaration will be handed over to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. (Ahiya Raved)
