The Poultry Council on Monday seized 700 kilograms of meet smuggled from the Palestinian Authority on its way to marketing chains in Israel.
The council's inspectors stopped a driver at the Harish junction carrying boxes packed with meat from Barta'a in the West Bank. "The consumption of meat that is not fresh may lead to diseases. We will continue to fight the smuggling of meat and eggs," said Tomer Rahamim, of the Poultry Council. (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
