Minister Silvan: Boycott is hindrance to both economic, political peace

None

Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom commented on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' edict that forbids buying Israeli products made in the settlements and said, "Those who take such measures, are not seeking peace, but wish to prolong the conflict."

"This measure not only harms the chances for peace talks, but also some 25,000 Palestinians who work in the factories Abbas is calling to boycott," said Shalom. According to the deputy prime minister, while Israel makes efforts to improve and advance the Palestinian economy, this edict serves as a hindrance to both economic and political peace.
