The US Departments of Interior and Homeland Security on Tuesday announced they were launching a joint investigation into the explosion at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig which subsequently sank.
The April 21 explosion at the rig owned by Transocean Ltd left 11 workers missing, critically injuring three others and led to an ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The well was being drilled for BP Plc. (Reuters)
