French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, arrived in China on Wednesday for a three-day visit in which Sarkozy is expected to press his Chinese counterpart to back further sanctions against Iran.
The couple made their first stop in the western city of Xi'an and were to visit the life-size terracotta warriors at the famed ancient tomb of China's first emperor, said a French official, who declined to be named in line with government policy. They were scheduled to fly to Beijing later Wednesday. (AP)
