Report: Thai troops fire in air to halt red shirt convoy

Thai troops fired into the air near a convoy of anti-government protesters on Wednesday in an attempt to halt their convoy, a Reuters witness said.

About 450 soldiers and policemen have set up a checkpoint outside an air force base on a highway in Bangkok's northern suburbs, and some of the soldiers fired into the air with machine guns and shotguns. (Reuters)
