Finance Ministry: Gov't expenditures increase by NIS 3 billion
Government spending in 2009 increased by some NIS 3 billion (about $800 million), totaling at NIS 49.7 billion ($13 billion), according to financial reports published by the Ministry of Finance.
The increase is due to the collective wage agreement put into effect the year before. The data also showed that the state spent NIS 94 million ($25 million) in 2009 to fund salaries and security for government ministers. (Amnon Atad)
