Report: US keeps option of veto in favor of Israel open
A senior source in the White House denied reports published in the New York Times that President Barack Obama will not use the US right of veto in the UN for Israel's benefit, if Israel reduces its trust in the political process.
The same source told Arabic newspaper Asharq Alawsat that no such commitment had been made to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. The report was inaccurate, the source said, adding that the US policy in the UN regarding Israel has not changed. (Roee Nahmias)
