A US anti-terrorism assessment team visited the main Lebanon-Syria border crossing this week, a US embassy official said on Thursday, amid allegations that Damascus was supplying its ally Hezbollah with missiles.
The official told AFP that a team from the Department of State's Antiterrorism Assistance programme (ATA) was in Lebanon on a visit planned months ago at the invitation of the government to assess the training Washington provides to security and law enforcement personnel. (AFP)
