IDF chief dismisses Imad Fares for omitting truth
IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi informed former Galilee Division Commander Brigadier-General Imad Fares that he will no longer serve in the Israel Defense Forces after omitting the truth in connection to a car accident involving his wife and his army vehicle.
Ashkenazi offered Fares to withdraw on his own initiative, to which he refused. Fares was convicted on Sunday by Deputy IDF chief Major-General Benny Gantz. (Hanan Greenberg)
