Head of the National Information Directorate Nir Hefetz said Saturday following statements made by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat that "the prime minister has repeatedly stressed that Israel wished to resume peace talks on condition they would be held with no pre-existing conditions." He noted there has been no change in the prime minister's stance.
A source close to Netanyahu added, "Anyone who is truly sincere about his intentions to start a political process will be best to refrain from mentioning pre-conditions which never existed and clearly never will." (Roni Sofer)
