Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Monday at a Labor faction meeting that he "hopes and believes proximity talks would lead to direct negotiations and results. It will require efforts from all sides."
He further noted, "We will have to exert our influence in the government in order to improve relations with the United States. If it turns out that the government needs expanding – one would have to seriously consider the option." (Attila Somfalvi)
