Thailand's anti-government protesters sought assurances Tuesday that the entire government backed the prime minister's latest proposal for early elections in exchange for ending their crippling, weeks-long occupation of downtown Bangkok.
Leaders of the Red Shirt protesters, ranging from hardline militants to others seemingly more willing to compromise, indicated they would deliver their response to the proposal later Tuesday once they heard from the government. (AP)
