Bibi: Israel will not vote against accepting Syria to WTO

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will not vote against accepting Syria as a member of the World Trade Organization in Geneva on Tuesday. Netanyahu showed his preference for the position of Minister of Trade, Industry and Labor Benjamin Ben Eliezer (Labor) above that of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who was adamant that Israel should vote against, thereby going against the 152 other states including the US which has recently dropped its opposition.

As Ynet reported, Netanyahu was still undecided the evening before the Geneva vote, particularly since no extensive discussion had been held on the matter. (Roni Sofer)
