Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer said that the European financial crisis may pose a threat to Israel too. During a discussion in the Knesset Finance Committee, Fischer said that the International Monetary Fund was aware of the crisis but failed to correctly evaluate how serious it would be.
Fischer noted that the IMF said the world economy had begun recovery, and that the US would be the first to get over the crisis, with growth of 3.5%. (Zvi Lavi)
